Ákom-Bákom Children's Camp and Daycare

Ákom-Bákom
Hungarian language and creative camp and daycare
now including crafts and music elements
The purpose of our program is to:
- develop Hungarian language and social skills
- strengthen creativity and manual skills
- increase interest in music
Since 2015 we have oragnised 16 Ákom-Bákom holiday camps and this September we shall extand the programme and introduce a regular weekly activity on Wednesday afternoons, throughout the school year.
Participating children can try different art techniques, several activities designated to increase creativity and craftsmanship, and all this in small groups.
Using language development games, dramatization and imaginative activities, we help children communicate better and we introduce them to Hungarian children's literature, the world of tales and songs.
Through vocal and rhythmic exercises, danses and games with musical instruments we reinforce their sensitivity to music.

We recommend camps and the daycare activity for those children who use mainly Hungarian in their everyday life, and also for those who attend foreign language kindergartens or schools, but they have Hungarian roots or connections.
Our activities are child-centered: The themes and agenda are shaped by the childen's capacity, age, language skills and interest, based on co-operation, self-reliance, and respecting the personality of the children.
We allow time for free play and incase of good weather open-air programs are not left out.
