Maureen de Smet

Maureen de Smet is a young Belgian recorder player. She started playing the recorder when she was six years old and directly fell in love with this instrument. She is currently studying at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with Frederic de Roos and Nathalie Houtman.

Maureen loves meeting artists from all over the world and discovering new cultures, traditional music and languages. She thinks that artistic education is essential in children’s development and that’s why she’s really happy to collaborate with arcFAM Association.

Her aim as a teacher is to develop children’s talent according to their abilities and to share her passion for music. She invites students to express themselves through music in a creative and playful way.
